Potent was founded by Faizan Shaikh, a San Francisco equity applicant and community-driven entrepreneur. As an immigrant who grew up in the Bay Area, Faizan has deep roots in this city — its people, its culture, and its progress. He saw that too many cannabis businesses were becoming corporate and disconnected from the communities they serve.

So he set out to build something different:
A dispensary that champions local ownership, fair opportunities, and authentic representation in an industry that hasn’t always been fair.
